This project consists of the substantial refurbishment and extension of a Victorian house at lower ground floor level. The original lower level spaces were cramped and dark. The project included the lowering of a significant section of the garden to create a external paved eating area. A large roof light brings light directly into the heart of the lower ground floor. The internal space is simple and modern. The clients possessions bringing colour to the predominantly white space. One wall is clad in green Cumbrian Broughton Moor slate (lit directly by the light coming through the roof light.
